Thinker Tribe is a company founded by two moms in 2020, Maryjane and Katherine, who are passionate about creating learning experiences for children through play. They have a background in early childhood education and use play-based learning techniques, such as open-ended toys and the Montessori and Waldorf approaches, to inspire and educate children at home. The company’s mission is to source high-quality, imaginative children’s toys from around the world that promote creative and meaningful play for children and families in the Philippines. They aim to curate the best products that will redefine imagination and play for children and families.
I propose creating a Shopify website for their business. Shopify is a popular e-commerce platform that allows businesses to easily set up and manage an online store. It offers a range of customizable themes and features that make it easy to showcase and sell products online.
With a Shopify website, the client will be able to:
- Display their products, including open-ended toys and Montessori materials, in an organized and visually appealing way
- Accept online payments securely through various payment gateways
- Manage orders and track inventory
- Offer shipping options to customers within the Philippines and potentially internationally
- Integrate with social media and email marketing tools to reach potential customers and promote their business
Overall, a Shopify website would provide an easy and cost-effective way for the client to sell their Montessori products online and reach customers in the Philippines and beyond. It would also allow them to scale their business and potentially expand into new markets in the future.
During the website design process, I established the purpose and goals of the website in order to effectively align the design with the client’s needs. The client’s goal was to sell Montessori products, such as open-ended toys and materials, to customers in the Philippines. To achieve this goal, I conducted research and gathered inspiration for the design, targeting a clean and professional aesthetic that would appeal to the target audience of parents and educators interested in Montessori products.
I then created a rough layout of the website on paper to visualize the overall structure and flow of the site, including sections for different product categories, a shopping cart and checkout process, and an about page introducing the company and its mission.
To implement the design, I selected a theme from Shopify that aligned with the brand and met the needs of the business, prioritizing a clean and professional design and strong e-commerce functionality. I then customized the theme using the available tools, incorporating my own branding, images, and content to the website.
To ensure the website was user-friendly, I conducted testing on different devices and browsers and made any necessary refinements to improve the user experience. Overall, the design process was focused on effectively achieving the client’s goals and providing a positive user experience.
